Meet Heather Irelan, PMHNP, FNP, APRN

  • As a dual-certified Family and Mental Health Nurse Practitioner with 7 years of specialized experience, I understand the challenges of navigating mental health and addiction. I offer a unique, integrative approach that addresses the whole person, not just their symptoms. I believe in the power of compassionate, personalized care with a focus on building trusting relationships and incorporating patient preferences into care.

  • I provide medication management and psychotherapy, to support mental health disorders and addiction recovery. Recognizing that medication is not for everyone, I work closely with my patients to explore various therapeutic options that align with their individual needs and goals. My approach is holistic, that integrates the emotional and psychological aspects of health to promote overall well-being. Together, we can work towards your health and wellness goals.

Education and Credentials

Heather Irelan, board-certified PMHNP-BC with a post-certificate MSN from Illinois State University and FNP-C certified with a degree from Indiana Wesleyan University, has worked in rural health for 3 years and addiction medicine for 4 years. Her extensive education and experience equip her to provide comprehensive, evidence-based care tailored to individual needs. She received her Full Practice Advanced Practice Registered Nurse License from Illinois in 2024.

  • We offer personalized treatment plans for conditions such as substance use disorder, anxiety disorders, depression, bipolar disorder, obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD), post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), schizophrenia, and borderline personality disorder (BPD).

  • I am physically located in Illinois. I work virtually and can see anyone located in the state of Illinois.

  • Our outpatient private practice is offered online. Available by phone Monday through Friday during normal business hours to address any needs you may have. However, our commitment to your care extends beyond these hours.

  • Choose an appointment time that fits your schedule. You can schedule an appointment online through the schedule appointment box found on each page or located in the menu bar located on the top right hand corner of each page.

  • I am in network with Blue Cross Blue Shield of Illinois, Blue Cross of Massachusetts, Aetna, Cigna, Evernorth, Meritain, Coventry, Nippon Life Benefits, Allied, GEHA, Boon-Chapman, 1199SEIU Funds, 90 Degree Benefits-Caprock, UMR, Optum, All Savers Insurance, US Health Group, and Golden Rule. We do not Medicaid or Medicare at this time.

    For patients not in network with those providers, hour long new patient visits are $250, one hour extended follow up sessions are $145. The fees are billed to a credit card on file at the time of the appointment.

  • Initial Consultation $250: This session will be to establish psychiatric care. It will consist of a comprehensive evaluation of symptoms and options for treatment. Session length will be 60 minutes. 

    Extended follow up are 60 Minute Sessions $145: Include therapy and medication management.

    Initial Therapy Sessions 60 Minutes $250: Include therapy only.

    Extended Therapy Follow Up Sessions $145 Include therapy only.

  • A Good Faith Estimate is a detailed breakdown of the expected costs for your medical care. It is provided to patients who do not have insurance or are not using their insurance for a particular service. The estimate includes the anticipated charges for medical items and services, allowing you to understand and plan for the financial aspect of your care. This estimate is required by law to ensure transparency and to help you make informed decisions about your healthcare expenses.

  • Missed appointments or appointments canceled with less than 24 hours notice will incur a $25 fee. Patients with three late cancellations or missed appointments will be discharged from the practice.
